Section 597 Touchstone (Monday 9th)

Present Simple Review

I like chicken.
He likes chicken.
I don't like chicken.
He doesn't like chicken.
You don't like chicken.
You like chicken.

1) 1st person = infinitive
2) 2nd person = infinitive
3) 3rd person = infinitive + s

short words = + es 
do = does
go = goes

If vowel before y = + S
If consonant before y = no y and  + ies

When to use present simple


  • Always true (long time/fact)
  • Repeated action (Habit) 

How are you?
Where do you live? (Live = infinitive/basic verb)
